Juan Nutrisyon User Guide

Master the art of tracking your nutrition with our easy-to-follow instructions.

Workflow 1

How to Search & View Food Data

Whether you're looking for common ingredients or local Filipino delicacies, Juan Nutrisyon allows you to find nutritional data using English or local dialects.

01

Access the Search Tool

The search function is available on every page. Look for the 🔍 Search Icon at the top right corner of your screen. Click it to open the search bar.

02

Enter Your Query

Type the name of the food in the text box. Pro-tip: You can search in local dialects (e.g., searching for "Petsay" will help you find Pechay). Click the SEARCH button to proceed.

03

Select from Results

Browse through the list of matches. Each result shows the food name and its calorie count. If you don't see what you're looking for, use the pagination buttons at the bottom to see more results. Click on a food item to view its full profile.

04

Understand the Food Profile

Once the food page opens, you can explore several key areas:

  • Source & Names: View the data origin (e.g., PhilFCT) and alternate names at the top left.
  • Modify Serving: Click the button to change the grams to match your actual portion.
  • Nutrient Details: Click any i icon to learn more about a specific nutrient or its daily limits.
  • Actions: Use "Add to Recipe" for building meals or "Log as Meal" to record it in your diary.

How to Create a Recipe

Combine multiple ingredients to build a complete dish and see the total nutritional breakdown per serving.

Note: this is only available for logged in users. Signing up for an account is FREE.

01

Add Ingredients

From any food page, click the ADD TO RECIPE button.

A Modify Serving Size window will appear. Enter the Weight as purchased (AP Weight)—the app will automatically calculate the edible portion for you based on our food data. Click the blue button to confirm.

02

Go to the Recipe Page

You can keep searching and adding more foods. Once you are done, click the Chef's Hat icon in the top navigation bar to finalize your recipe.

03

Refine Your Ingredients

On the Recipe Page, you can fine-tune your list:

  • Description & Role: Add context like "minced" or "garnish."
  • Adjust Amounts: Change weights directly on the ingredient card.
  • Remove Items: Click the 🗑️ red garbage can icon at the top right of an ingredient card to delete it.
04

Finalize and Privacy

Fill in the required fields in the center column:

  • Recipe details: Set the Number of Servings, Recipe Name, and upload a dish image.
  • Public Toggle: If toggled ON, your recipe will be searchable by other users. If OFF, it remains private to you (though you can still share it via a direct link).
05

Save Your Work

Check the Nutrient Breakdown on the right to see the total calories and macros per serving. Once satisfied, click the SAVE RECIPE button at the bottom to store it in your collection.

How to Use the Food Diary

Track your daily intake, monitor water consumption, and get a deep dive into your nutritional health.

01

Open Your Diary

Click the Diary icon (đź“”) in the top navigation bar. If it's your first time visiting today, click the ADD MEAL button to get started.

02

Log Your Meals

  1. Select Meal Type: A window will pop up—choose Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or a Snack.
  2. Find Food: Click the + button on your new meal card. This opens the search box.
  3. Log It: Search for your food, select it, and click LOG AS MEAL. Just like the recipe builder, you can enter the AP weight or serving size.
03
